Zach and I snuck down to do some work at the deer lease a couple of weekends back. Got some grass cut, pulled cards from cameras, and set a few more out. We even managed to get some trees cleared for a food plot we plan to put in this fall. 5+ hours of work felt like more in the southern Missouri heat and humidity. It only got worse when Zach’s truck overheated and quit on him just as we were headed back home. We finally made it back to STL Saturday night with mixed feelings of accomplishment for what we’d completed on the day and grief for what Zach had seemingly lost. Now, with some time since that weekend, we’ve had the chance to see movement on cameras. In mid-May of 2024, Connor, Isaac and I spent a weekend on the incredible Jack’s Fork River here in Missouri with a handful of friends. 3 days and 2 nights of wild, awe inspiring, pristine, scenic riverway. It was an experience we won’t soon forget. I've just recently begun the process of sorting through all the media we captured along the way and will likely put something more long-form together in the future but in the meantime I couldn’t help but share some of the highlights.
